Our Tower Type Hydraulic Breaker mounts at a higher point on the excavator arm than box or side type models. This raises the direct line of force, delivering stronger vertical impact for primary rock breaking and high-rise demolition.

The higher mounting point also gives the boom a wider working angle, making the breaker more flexible for horizontal work, trenching, and uneven ground. The detachable front head simplifies tool changes and on-site maintenance.

Tower Type Hydraulic Hammer Applications

At ARTUS, we built the Tower Type Hydraulic Breaker around one structural choice: mount it higher on the boom than a box or side-type unit. That single change does two things — it puts the chisel directly in line with the boom’s downward force, so more energy reaches the rock on every blow, and it gives the boom a wider working angle, so operators can reach more of the job site without repositioning the excavator. The four working conditions below are where that combination matters most.

Underwater Operation

In underwater demolition, divers can’t reposition the excavator, so every strike has to count. We engineer the Tower Type’s boom geometry for exactly this: a wider working angle that lets one fixed position cover submerged slopes, scattered rock, and uneven riverbeds without re-anchoring the machine.

Tunneling

Inside tight tunnels, there is no room to maneuver. Instead of backing out the excavator to reset, the ARTUS Tower Type Hammer features an elevated mounting point to widen your pivoting range. Operators can adjust and crush rock on the fly without shifting tracks—saving hours of repositioning every shift.

Primary Rock Breaking

Primary breaking in an open pit or quarry is a volume game: the faster oversized rock comes down, the faster the haul trucks move. A higher mounting point means more of the boom’s downward force reaches the chisel on every blow, so our Tower Type breaks through large rock faces in fewer strikes than a lower-mounted design.
